Welcome

The Zurich Center for Integrative Human Physiology (ZIHP) is a virtual network that brings together more than    130 research groups. It is an interdisciplinary center of competence of the University of Zurich. Integrative physiology combines research on the level of molecules, cells, organs and the whole organism with the aim to bring the complex functions of the human body into focus.

Basic and clinically-oriented research groups are linked through the funding of    Cooperative Projects,  covering topics from A as in auto-immune diseases to Z as in zebrafish mutants. Two assistant professorships have been established in
Integrative Physiology
and in the field of
Epithelial Cancers.  State-of-the-art equipment, techniques and services related to cardio-vascular, renal, respiratory, muscle and metabolism functions are provided by a    Core Facility for Rodent Physiology.

Educational activities cover the    PhD Program in Integrative Molecular Medicine  and the    Master Program in Human Biology.

The ZIHP is a landmark in the European physiology landscape, since among    the most-cited 30 physiologists of Europe  are five from the ZIHP.

The ZIHP is funded by the    University Research Priority Program (URPP) Integrative Human Physiology
