Research

Integrative physiology combines research on the level of molecules, cells, organs and the whole organism with the aim to bring the complex functions of the human body into focus. Furthermore, integrative physiology strengthens the long lasting links between basic and clinically oriented research in health and disease.

The ZIHP currently counts more than 150 members which are organized by topics.

Cooperative projects are funded by the ZIHP. They are an excellent tool to promote scientific collaborations and to bring together the people beyond institutional or faculty borders.

Two assistant professorships in Integrative Human Physiology were filled with outstanding young scientists with human-oriented research interests, Prof. Ian Frew and Prof. Carsten Lundby.
